Kristin’s experience includes 12 years as a pediatric physical therapist, providing center-based, school-based and home-based physical therapy to infants and young children in
Certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) for children with neuromotor dysfunction, Kristin uses an advance therapeutic approach to treatment. Kristin works collaboratively with therapists, caregivers and physicians to develop comprehensive treatment programs based on the principles of human neurology and physiology. She utilizes taping, splinting, and Theratogs to improve posture and function. She is certified in Kinesiotaping and trained in the fabrication of positioning equipment using Triwall, a cost effective positioning option for young children.
Kristin also has a certification in Level 1 Cuevas Medek Exercises, a series of exercises created in the 1970s by Chilean Physical Therapist, Ramon Cuevas. The philosophy behind Medek is to promote automatic responses of functional-postural motor control under the influence of gravity force. Medek requires the use of a specific set of wooden boxes, boards and platform to facilitate antigravity positions. In an effort to help children of all abilities, Kristin is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI). She will be providing infant massage instruction classes to new and expecting parents.
Kristin is currently focusing her continued education on the evaluation and treatment of children with Sensory-Based Motor Disorders.
